33cl bottle from Carrefour @ Cours St Michel in Brussels. F: big, white, good retention. C: gold, medium light hazy. A: malty, wheat, bit orange, banana, bit spicy, sweet fruity. T: wheat, orange, fruity, bit banana, bit spicy, sour touch, I expected more balanced beer, medium carbonation, partially enjoyed.

Nice, creamy lasting head. Honeyaroma with lemon and grapefruit. Yeasty, buttery flavor with honey, lemon, yoghurt and banana. Slight tartness. This beer, has a very nice aroma and a good taste, but somehow it gets annoying after a while.

Bottle at Le Bier Circus, Brussels on 25th January 2018. Pours golden amber with thick off-white foam. Lush citrus hop aroma. Tropical fruits and citrus in-mouth, with elderflower. A tangy lemon citrus fruity finish. Zingy mouthfeel and a light body.

At Cambrinus, Bruges. Shared with Anke. Pours clear pale golden (hazy with deposit) with a small, foamy, white head. Typical Witbier aroma of wheat, citrus, coriander, honey, apple, some herbal hops. It tastes light to medium wheaty sour and light bready sweet, lemony notes. Bit tart, spicy and hoppy in the finish. Light to medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Very decent for a Witbier.

23/08/2017 - tasting glass from a 33cl bottle @ the brewery. Cloudy yellow with quickly fading white head. Nose is low grainy, citrus, sweet touch. Acceptable witbier for me.

A bit darker than golden, almost transparent. Average head with huge bubbles, scarce persistence and average lacing. Aroma is vividly citric (orange, lemon) and slightly spicy/prickly. Nicely fresh. Taste follows the aroma, with a soft wheat malts base and a slight hint of acidity. Light body, medium to high crispness, easy and quick but maybe a tad too empty. Quite refreshing. Good enough

This particular pairing was inspired by my buddy Rich from Craft Beer Y’all having Troublette with a lemon sorbet. I thought that sounded pretty good so I tracked down a bottle but couldn’t easily find sorbet so I got some Haagen Daaz Sicilian Lemon Pie flavored ice cream. The aroma is tangy lemon with cloves and wheat. The taste is peppery, tangy fruits, wheat and cloves. Quite flavorful and good value for the 400 yen or so price. Paired with the reach creamy ice cream the carbonation cuts through it and gives the lemon notes a greater sharpness and immediacy. Not a beer I’d have pegged for a dessert pairing but this is really nice and makes for a chill relaxing dessert.

Donkergeel bier zonder schuim. Bier is feitelijk "dood". Smaak is licht zuur en ietwat fruitig, lijkt echter niet op witbier. Valt erg tegen.
6-3-2020 opnieuw geprobeerd en ditmaal wel een mooie schuimkraag.
