On draft at Churchkey. Poured a golden yellow color with a small off-white head. Aroma was notes of quince, juicy fruits, some plum. Flavor was similar, quince, fruits. Not a lot of saison notes, some light funky grain notes, but that’s about it. Tasty though.

Light citrus feel but o don’t get a huge amount of quince here. Pours golden blonde with OK head and lacing. Light sour finish. Tap at Churchkey thanks to radagast.

330ml bottle. Hazy, yellow-ish, golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy, yeasty aroma, fruity, minimally sweet-ish notes of quince, a touch of mirabelle and peach. Taste is minimally dry, slightly sweet fruity, quince, mirabelle, peach again, pulp, a tart lemon touch, spicy, yeasty overtones; minimally watery. Very nice composition.

Keg at BBNo thanks to me. It pours hazy pale orange with a small white head. The nose is juicy, tart quince, lemon, creaminess, vanilla, apple pie and custard. The taste is crisp, lightly tart, earth, straw, lemon rind, sherbet, cracker mild sweetnessacidity, green apple and grape skin with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Great tart fruity edge to it. Delicious and crushable.

Bottle at home split with Sarah, picked up at the brewery. Aroma is interesting grainy doughy wheaty, straw and earthy sharp fruit, little apricot. Nice saison / belgian yeasty nose. Nice translucent golden . light ortange coloured pour with a lasting but fading white head. Flavour is composed of tangy doughy wheat grains, apriot and light floral notes, nice saison yeast. Palate is doughy with moderate carbonation, sticks in the mouth a bit too much. Not dry enough in the finihs. Not really stuff if i’ve tasted quince before but the fruit character in this beer is nice and well integrated with the base beer and yeast character.

Bottle at home from the brewery, during the Angry Santa virtual Tasting, 23/12/14. Lightly hazed pale blonde with a good sized white head that retains well. Nose is jammy citrics, apricot, straw, spice, tangerine, sweet notes. Taste comprises citric tinged straw, grassy, lime, sweet licks, faint spice, mandarin, lemon rind, melon, light farmy tones ... if you hadn’t told me there was quince I’d never have said it but as the seed was planted in my head I can just get that sugary sweetness. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation with citric licks and a semi drying close. Decent saison, crisp and refreshing in the execution.

Bottle. Trembling Madness Drinks Shop, York. Grey tinged, pinky orange colour. Thick as a bag cloudy. Lively, bubbly, thick, white head. Very bready. Sweet, lemony, grainy malt. Fruity, and floral. Taste is soft, fruity, floral sweet. Turns dry, light tart, and light bitter. Really soft, airy palate. Finishes light bitter, soft sweet, and with a perfect tartness on the close. Lovely.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours mostly clear gold with a dense, creamy white head. The nose has a pleasant, dry saison yeast character, accented lemon zest and white grape. Light-medium sweet flavor with dry, doughy wheat bread, some sourdough, hints of tangy lemon, pear, melon. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced on the finish with further sweet, lightly juicy pale fruits, some apricot, more melon, light bitter hay, more wheat bread, yeast, lemon squares. Lovely beer. Well integrated.
