Cassandra's bitterness derives from both its coffee-like roasted grains as well as its earthy European hop bill and a subtle touch of minerality through the addition of oyster shells at the end of the boiling process brings out a perceived chocolatey-liquorice sweetness.

I wasn’t sure what beer to drink next so the decision to have curry for dinner settled me on the stout. Cassandra Oyster Stout 7% Deep black with some dark brown elements and a thick beige head. The aroma is dark chocolate and soft cocoa. The taste starts off very toasty before giving you dark chocolate in a slightly bitter aftertaste with even some acrid notes (probably black patent malt). The curry softens the acrid elements and highlights a sort of meaty chocolate flavor. Nice stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Flesje gedeeld door Benzai en gedronken met Tomhendriksen. Zwart bier met stevig schuim. Aroma van koffie en drop. Smaak is vol, fruitig van donker fruit, koffie achtig. Weinig nasmaak.

Bottle @ tasting shared with Inoven and TomHendriksen. Opaque pitch black color, medium to full sized beige to light brown head. Aroma is malts, dark raisins, a hint of dark / black cherries, black currant, lightly coffee. Complex. Flavor is malts, dark malts, coffee, black cherries, cherry stone, bitter. Flavor is complex though a bit messy, not so balanced imo. Decent beer though. Interesting.

Fles gedeelt door Benzai, geprobeerd met Benzai. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een dun schuim. Het heeft een geur van koffie en donker fruit. De smaak is gebrand, donkerfruit en dropachtig.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Siphon Cassandra ].Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, chocolate, dark malt, moderate roasted - coffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to light light heavy bitter with a long duration, dark malt, chocolate, roasted - coffee, malt bitter, belgium yeast. Bottle, 7%. Very dark brown with medium brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and caramel. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, little smoke, medium sweet, little liquorice and medium bitter.
