10 Month Bourbon Barrel-Aged Bearded Lady, our uncompromisingly big and beautiful Imperial Stout. Born from our Dark Arts recipe, she uses masses of magical malts to deliver deep chocolate, rich coffee and vinous berry flavours, all complemented by a balanced yet subtly spicy hop profile. Powerful, robust, intriguing: yet decadently smooth and sumptuous, the lady demands respect. The barrel-ageing softens the beer, adding rich bourbon, sweet vanilla and a hint of oak. Already barrel-aged for 10 months this beer will continue to develop in the bottle for many years. Annual Release 2013.

660ml bottle. Now! Another one from my, until now, top-rated brewery - and there’s some evidence Magic Rock isn’t in danger having to shave off this status just for maturing the hirsute attributes of a Bearded Lady. Jet black colour with late awakening, average to huge, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, superbly lacing, tan head. Rich dark malty aroma delivers a well balanced brimming package of familiar flavours, treacle, chocolate, liquorice, dark berries, hardly corseted, merely coated by oak, leather and vanilla notes, due to a visit the Lady paid some Bourbon barrel. Taste is a well peformed walk on the slackline spanned between Himalayan peaks of dark malt and fruity hops respectively; moderately sweet dark malty, chocolately, a touch of mocha, hints of dark berries, treacle, bitter and herbal hoppy counterweight. Slightly sticky palate, dangerously drinkable. On par with some of the best De Molen Impy Stouts.

CBC. Black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate and bourbon. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol. Oily. 020514

Bottle, kindly donated by Scopey, many thanks. Almost black colored beer with minimal beige head. Strong coffee and chocolate aroma with dark fruits, licorice, vanilla, bourbon, ash. Taste, roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, licorice, dark fruits, vanilla, bourbon, wood. Alcohol is clearly recognizable. Nice hoppy finish. Very tasty beer.

Bottle thanks to Cuso. Aroma roasty, woody, uncompromising. Light fruity. Almost black colour. Taste is quite dry. The lack of sweetness is surprising, but compensated in richness of flavour. Strong dark roasty malts. Cleaner coffee than I get in most coffees. Background fruits. Very clean, masterfuly balanced, full of flavours, really tasty. Excellent.

[5/2/14] Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. 1st session. Black with a brown head. Aroma of chocolate, liqueur, cocoa, coffee, a bit of dark fruits, bourbon and some alcohol. Sweet boozy flavor with chocolate, bourbon, a bit of vanilla, a bit of wood and an alcoholic finish. Full-bodied.

Draught @ CBC 2014. Pours pitch black with a light brown head. Aroma of raosted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, oak, vanilla, coconut, caramel. Draught at CBC 2014. Opaque black liquid with a medium tan head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, raw sugar and coffee. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with notes of vanilla, wood and chocolate. Full bodied with low carbonation.
