Black with thin head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of dark malts. Also some hints of dark chocolate. It’s well balanced and sessionable.

The ’regular’ Naparbier porter, bottle at Billies Bierkafetaria in Antwerp. Lacing, light beige, thin, irregular head over a very dark burgundy beer with blackish ’soul’. Aroma of cocoa, caramel, star aniseed, roasted chestnuts, cola, dried tea leaves, biltong, banana, pear, pipe tobacco, black pepper, beef stock. Clean fruity onset, dates, raisins, blackberry sourishness, soft carbo, light umami accents, caramelly and a tad syrupy malt sweetness, softly toasted, nutty with a bitter chocolate quality in the end, oily, ending in mild roasted and peppery and herbal hop bitterness, but the caramel sweetness also persists. Very tasty porter.
