Belgian ale aged 8 months in oak barrels with Brettanomyces. A beer inspired by a legendary Trappist brewery located within the walls of Abbaye Notre-Dame d'Orval. Eight months ago, this beer started it's journey tasting like a banana and clove forward, hoppy Belgian beer. During it's hibernation in barrels, the Funkmorphosis transformed it to a super dry, 9%, complex funky and fruity effervescent ale. Tasting notes include: orange marmalade, Christmas cake, fruit, and last but definitely not least: brett funk.

500ml Lambic bottle. Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that laces. Aroma of green grape, white wine, Brett, floral hops and light oak. Sweet fruity flavour of caramel malt, green grape, apricot, orange, banana, spicy clove, Brett, floral hops and oak in a dry, slightly tart white wine finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Nice complexity and dangerously easy to drink.

hazy golden color. Big saline character with pickles and citrusy notes. Full body, lots of brett, but oak wasn’t over powering. Alcohol relatively well hidden. Slightly warming finish. Not everyone’s cup of tea but I kinda liked it.
