This special version of our Hack Weight Imperial Stout was aged in Booker's bourbon barrels across four seasons in 2019. During this time, we employed a winemaking technique to the aging process known as the "ouillé" method, or making sure the barrels were regularly topped up with fresh beer to minimize oxidization. Over the course of the year, Barrel Aged Hack Weight has mellowed from its original iteration into something unique with notes of brownie batter, vanilla cigar, and liqueur-filled chocolates. We also added a tasteful amount of whole Tahitian vanilla beans prior to blending. It was totally nerve-wracking and tremendously exciting to follow this beer as it aged; we hope you enjoy drinking it as much as we enjoyed making it.

Can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Nose is rich and elegant, with lots of dark chocolate, medium roast, and moderate bourbon barrel presence. Flavour is loaded with an intense but elegant bourbon barrel character, plenty of vanilla, wood, dark chocolate, and medium roast. That bourbon barrel character is quite something. So smooth and luscious on the palate. Wonderfully done.

355ml can. Pours an opaque black with a small, creamy, short lived, brown head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, licorice, oak and vanilla. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, licorice, tobacco, brown sugar, bitter coffee, vanilla and oak in a dry, bourbon warming finish. Full body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Nice complexity. A bit of heat, but further aging would mellow this out.

Tons of dark chocolate oak vanilla smooth and dry. Excellent barrel aging. Superb
