Tap at Before 9/ Super hazy pale yellow with a thick head. Orange, grapefruit, some tropical fruit. Peppery and dry. Very dry finish without being so juicy. Tastes nice but a bit weird for the style.

500 ml can from The Slop Shop, Toritsudaigaku. Pours hazy and creamy yellow, some white bubbles on the top. Nose is fruity, lupulin dust edges kicking through. This one has lots of hop powder! Tastes sweetish, tropical and full, not cloying, creamy oats making it more palatable / and that fresh lupulin powder giving some extra kick. Tasty, compares well with the best of hazy ones, incredible its coming from Japan.

Very turbid amber white color with somewhat loose head. A bit unusual for the style and I am seeing bubbles sticking to the side of the top of the glass. Dank fruitiness with tons of tangerines, citrus and melon notes, but alcohol is a touch present in the nose which gets me worried. It has this slight alcohol warming at the end which the alchemist has but it doesn’t interfer as much, that said it also doesn’t have the depth or palate of the alchemist. Not dank or tart enough. That said, many brewers can still make it less boozy than this at 9%. It’s really lack depth that other IPAs had. Certainly a touch of melon and guava and it’s not bad, but it’s not to the level I would hope from these guys
