(Bottle 25 cl) Michael Jackson sometimes refers to this as "one of Belgiums secret delights". As soon as you get the cap off you may understand why. This beer has the most wonderful spicy nose. Darkish brown caramel-like appearance. The caramel continous all the way through but never making the beer sticky or cloying. On the contrary it’s fresh and rather dry. And very malty. Quite full-bodied for the low alcohol. 110194

Bottle Clear, deep amber body. Frothy , off-white head, which diminsihes fully. Spare lace. Malts and liquor in the aroma. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Lightly bitter finish. Not very balanced. Medium bodied.

Draught. Nut brown, slightly cloudy. Head is white and creamy but not very stable. Served very cold (at Het Anker) Acidic/sour aroma. Flavour is mild but tasteful. Fruity, malty, caramelly. Aftertaste is malty and not very bitter. The beer is nice, refreshing and satiating (I was hungry).

Bottled. Nut brown, very lively. Perfumy nose. Dryish clean and velvetty with notes of toffee and grassy hops. Lightly woody. Elegant, and tasty!

Huge, yellow-brown, dense head; dark, dull but clear amber beer. Little carbonation despite the huge head. Rich dark malts and brown candi sugar in the nose. Iron! in the head. Cheaters. Faintly perfumey. Very bitter taste from roasted/burnt malts, scorched sugar. Little bit woody. There is an added sweetness, like rosewater. Slightly slick mouthfeel, little carbonation. Light to medium bodied. Unpleasant bitterness, seems to be attempted to be masked. I prefer the G.C. version - I'm surprised they still make this. The new one is undoubtedly superior.

The aroma is sweet and malty with notes of caramel. The color is a hazy amber and it has a small disappearing head. The flavor is sweet with notes of corriander and cloves. It ends on a dry note. The label is awful.

Clear dark amber color, with a nice medium and lasting creamy head. Aroma of sweet amber malts, bit hoppy also. Taste is quite the same, amber malty, bit sweet, bit fruity. Lasting palate. Nice brew.
