Bottle at Botteltje Ostend. The problem with chasing rates in a bar is that you've probably had all the good ones. So you end up with stuff you wouldn't touch knowing that St Bernardus is on tap. But hey raters gotta rate right??. Hazy amber colour lasting beige head. Malty cereal aroma. It's a little plain. Not worlds greatest beer. It's got some residual malty flavour. Moderate bitterness on the finish it's barely ok. Wouldn't have it again .

A: hazy ochre, stable, foamy, off-white head.
A: apricot, apple, ripe mandarin, dough, yeast, honey.
T: sweet apricot & apple, some sourish wheat & citrus, yeast.
F: grassy hops, bit peppery, ripe yellow fruit & spicy yeast.
P: medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation.
Decent Belgian Golden, managing to steer clear of more typical Belgian spiciness.

330 ml bottle, batch #R016, from Det Bette Ølhus, Aalbæk. ABV is 6.5%, EBU 37. Deep golden to orange colour, large white head. The aroma is not impressive, notes of dust, yeast and old jam. The flavour is better than the aroma, with a decent fruitiness, but is still too yeasty. Moderate bitterness, hints of cloves.

Sur l'étiquette est indiqué que cette Redenaar contient de la passion et de l'amour. Personnellement, je préfère m'abstenir d'un tel amour. Il s'agit sûrement d'un amour vache. Pas équilibrée, pas appréciable, cette bière n'a rien pour plaire. Je m'en suis posé la question de savoir si ma bouteille était altérée. Mais à lire les autres critiques, à priori même pas. J'eu préféré à vrai dire car je ne sais pas quel mécanisme intellectuel on en arrive à brasser une telle bière. En verre, nous sommes sur un blond orangé (EBC de 18) légèrement voilé avec une mousse blanche nappant la surface. Le nez est aigre, acétique avec pomme et pain. Déplorable. L'attaque est acidulée mais toujours avec une aigreur certaine. Les aromes présents sont le poivre, le caramel, le vinaigre de cidre accompagné d'un petit côté plastique. La deuxième bouche est un peu plus citronnée, pas plus équilibrée ni appréciable. L’arrière-bouche est aigre. Le final, court devient quelque peu aqueux. L'alcool à 6,5% ne sert pas à grand-chose, et l'amertume pourtant à 37 d'EBU ne se ressent que peu. À oublier.

Lichtbruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht zuur, ietwat zoet en kruidig met iets van rozijn, pruimen en druif. Best aardig bier.

330ml bottle from Chez Marie, Ieper. Pours a misty gold, medium white head. Aroma is lightly fruity yeast, pale malts. Taste is murky musty fruits, herbal esters with some Belgian yeast. A bit muddled and lacks real definition of flavour. Drinkable, but not worth returning to.

F: big, white, extremely long lasting. C: gold to orange, hazy, murky. A: malt, orange peels, spicy, light oxidized, yeasty. T: malty, spicy, hint of orange peels, yeasty, fruity, dry on the palate, dusty, medium body, lively carbonation, taste is better than aroma, 0,33l bottle date 30-10-2015 from Poperinge Beerfestival 2016.
