Black color, brown head. Very smooth, a bit creamy, with a mix of roasted malt and dark chocolate, but the nitro is a killer and it doesn’t express itself fully.

Draught @ Hawthorne Hophouse. Rated on 11.07.2012
Aroma has coffee, some roasted malt, chocolate and hints of peat. Flavour is slightly tart with some coffee and peat. Nice, but the tartness is too strong here and it disturbs.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours black with a medium light tan head that dissipates steadily. Tiny spots of lacing on the glass with a ring above. Roasted malt and coffee in the nose. Medium, softer body with flavors of roast coffee, malt and sweet chocolate. The finish is short and mildly bitter with a coffee aftertaste. Average overall.
