Dark counterpart of Jessenhofke Tripel with off-white, sticky head and brownish bronze colour with yellowish glow. Nutty aroma, thyme, pear, dates, coffee beans, nutmeg, hops. Dried fruits in the mouth, rounded but dry mouthfeel, some coffee-like roasted bitterness, nutty malts and a moderately hoppy finish with warming alcohol. Okay for its style but nothing spectacular.

33cl Bottle from an EKO shop. Typical abbey dubbel imho. Dark brown, beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, burnt sugar, dark fruits, light-spicy yeast. Flavour is the same, hint of cocoa, light floral, bittersweet finish. Light to medium-bodied. Very bland, and a bit too sweet for me.

Clear reddish brown with off-white head. Roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, spices and some raisins. Sweet at first but with a big bitter kick. Medium bodied, nice, almost chewy carbonation but a slightly thin feel at first. Gets better after it’s been in the glass a while. Overall quite nice.
