Pours mahogany into a trappist glass. Off-white micro-bubble head skims the surface. Caramel and dried fruit notes. Full with a sour licorice lasting finish.

Bottle: Poured a medium brown color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of brett is quite powerful a not the best of mix with the spices that are included in here. Taste is really weird it start with some great sourness and oak which is all ok at this point but when the spice kicks in it really doesn’t provide an enjoyable overall mix. Body is also a bit thin but carbonation is quite lively. I really enjoyed the JP beers that I had but I just don’t think this one is a good mix.

Cloudy amber color. Peculiar aroma, caramel, cookies; again caramel, malt and cookie taste. Quite good.

Hazy red brownish ale with a thin off white head. Sweet caramel malt aroma, with faitn ashtray notes, but giving way to fruity esters as beer warms up. Sweet caramel malt with strong diacetyl buttrlike mouthfeel, a bit unpleasant. Medium bodied. Bought in Chicago. Sam’s, Nov. 2005.

Bottle. Hazy amber colour. Off-white head. Spicy aroma and hints of alcohol. Also a weak aroma of coconut. A little sweet spicy flavor with hints of dark fruits. A little coconut flavor too. Dry finish.

Distinct flavor and aroma of bourbon. Cloudy brown pour with short, off-white head. The flavor, beyond the bourbon, had notes of overripe fruits — apple and cherry. A sweet beer with a tart to sour alcohol finish that’s short in duration. The body leans toward the thin side. The mouthfeel is fizzy. Not a favorite.

Cloudy amber pour with massive head of fine, foamy carbonation - lasting, thick lace - aroma of oak, yeast, damp earthtones, spices - soft, but full carbonation tickles the tongue - bracingly tart and spicy up front - some light fruits, bread and a hint of chocolate - funky brett characteristics in the finish, with some more spices coming in - not your standard biere de garde, but an original (and welcome) variation.

A hazy amber beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of flowers as well as hints of coconut. The flavor is sweet and very flowery combined with notes of eucalyptus and pumpkin, leading to a dry end. It has a slight alcohol burn in the mouth.

This had a murky pour of red-brown with a frothy off-white head. Vinous aroma, with some doughy yeast and apples. The flavor is slightly sweet, but many aspects that were hinted at in the aroma just didn’t materialize in the flavor. The finish is slightly acidic. Overall very smooth but somewhat uncomplicated and drinkable. The fruit flies have appeared to check it out!

Pours an orange/red color with a thick and foamy light beige head. Lacing is pretty minimal. Loads of spices in the aroma, as well as caramel and vanilla. Medium-bodied and sour at first but nicely rounded out with sweet fruit and malt. There is a light alcohol singe too. The finish is lively with spice and toasted malt. Pretty enjoyable.
