Bottle. Pours slightly cloudy dark brown with airy but stable beige head. Clear aroma of roast, malt and caramel. Bitter, roasty and hoppy flavour, with rough, grainy and malty notes. Sourish and bitter aftertaste with a hint of meral, without which the beer would be much better. Creamy mouthfeel. Undemanding but quite uninspiring, too.

500 ml. bottle picked up from a night shop in Cologne. Consumed at home. BBF 02/2014. Ruby dark wood brown, little, quickly vanishing mocha head. Nose is weird, coffee grounds but watery with soy sauce, something spoiled, plenty of lager yeast, something off & herbal, some of that metallic lager feel. Taste is better for sure than the slightly off-putting, coffee ground, bitter taste of one of those herbal coffee imitation things, some metals, touch syrup, metallic water quality, lager yeast, herbal & Chinese remedies notes. Light, typical dark lager feel body. I expected something lovelier when I picked this one up. Even if not top, it was not bad drinking this one, I was trying to avoid the worst, placing my bets on a Schwarzbier; a style of which I am still more than interesting in trying more from. In the end I wound up quite enjoying this one even if I expected a touch more.

500ml bottle. Clear dark brown with average, frothy, off-white head. Grainy, bready aroma, a touch of artificial sweetener. Taste is minimally sweet, minimally grainy with a grassy note and hints of artificial sweetener. Not really black, artificial sweet touch - not good.

Draught: Dark amber coloured, smaller fluffy tanned head; relatively mild aromas of dark malt and toffee; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied & soft; shorter - not too dry - bitter-caramelly finish. The mild one.....

Bottle, courtesy of Meilby. It looks quite nice in the glass, with its clear, dark brown body and dense, beige head. Rather vegetal on the nose, with toffee, dried fruits and some roasted malts. Thin to medium body, slightly sweet. The flavor has toffee, some roasted malts and a little vegetal touch. Caramel finish with a touch of veggies. Not very good. 110129
