Bier verbindet.

Rerate from a bottle brought to me by a lovely bear.
Cloudy copper, offwhite lace. Hayish juicy smoked malt, light metallic, good hoppy backbone.

Bottle. Elegant wood-smoke aroma. Cloudy orange, low offwhite head. Medium full body, smoked fruity notes, perfumed aromatics, berries. Nice balance, chewy, light salty, moreish - dangerously drinkable..

Pours a amber-golden color. Light smokey aroma. Lots more smoke in the flavor.

Bottle from Hopfen & Malz. Golden Amber with a thin head. Aroma of lightly smoked caramel. Flavour is smoky malt, caramel, dry ashy biscuit base. Seems to lack the Rauch and Bock kicks

Bottle shared by Martinus @ Help Benzai to 10 Sahti/Gotlandsdricke/Koduõlu - ticks tasting. Clear copper color, average sized off-white to beige head that diminishes fairly quickly. Smell and taste malts, only slightly smoke, quite sweet and a touch of hay or straw. Lightly a grainy bitter in the finish. Ok beer.

Copper colour, white head. Light smoky aroma, malts, yeast. Sweet malty flavour, light smoke. Light smoky finish, ash, malts. Very light smoke notes for a rauchbock.

Small, fast gone off-white head; well-carbonated copper-orange beer, cognac colour. Sharp woodsmoke nose, smoked crust, slightly tarry, malts, rainwater. Rather attractive nose. Bitterish-wry, a hint at aldehydes too, to a very dry finish. Somewhere deep below, some sweeter, biscuit-like malts. Some astringency, quite slick, medium bodied. Alcohol remains pretty much hidden. Decent, not too over-the-top Rauchbock, but severe all the same.

33cl swingtop bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear amber colour, thin white head. Aroma of tea, smoke, smoked bacon, sweet malts. Flavour is sweet, malty, tea, smoke, light fruity, tea-like bitterness with some sweetness. Medium bodied, flat. Didn’t really like this tbh. Disappointing.

0,33 l swingtop bottle from Rudat, best before 2/12/2015. Clear, golden amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan to white head. Pleasant, sweetish-smoky aroma of smoked ham, straw, nuts and honey. Sweetish-smoky taste of smoked ham, honey, caramel and grass. Short, slightly bitter and grassy finish. Thin to medium body, smooth mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Highly quaffable, very smooth and tasty with a smoky note that is a bit shy compared to Schlenkerla et al. Quite sweet but still in balance with the smoke. Simple and good!

Bottle at Abseits. Sweet and rather estery with nice fruit and smoke balance. Peach, nectarine, orange. Relatively mild to medium smoke. Not great, but enjoyable, and a bit ale-like.
