Harvest Ale is our celebration of the changing weather and the sowing of hops and barley that will be used in our upcoming brews. We usher in the fall with a classic English style Extra Special Bitter of the highest order. Deep ruby in color with an even deeper hop flavor… in fact, we throw fresh English hops into every brewing vessel, then dry hop after fermentation to impart a zesty kick. This beer has real hop character that mingles with fresh malted barley for an experience that will make you wish it were fall year ‘round.

clear yellow, smooth fine white head. very nice flowery hoppy aroma, with a little fruity sort of bitter peachy note to it too. fantastic aroma. some orange too. just after pouring the aroma is unbelievably strong, full and appetizing. flavor is sweet malty, and lots of pine , grapefruity bitter hops. alc is low and hidden, this is dangerously easy to drink. faint sugary sweetness too. damn this is good. lots of hops and flavor for a 5.7% abv beer. quenching .. way too bad this bottle is only like 35 cl or so.

(Bottle at Pikkulintu) Poured pale golden and clear with small white head. Aroma contained hops and fresh grain. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, grass, hops, grain, light sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was bitter and grainy.

Bottled. Clear golden color, short white head. Aroma of grainy hops, some malt. Bit dryish grainy taste, quite bitter, slight sweet. Dry palate.

Bottle @ Hj Hansen, Odense. Pours clear golden with a small white head and lacings. Nose is freshly hopped. Citrus and pine. Medium bodied. Dry bitter and crisp flavor. Nice.

Clear golden with a tiny white head. Hoppy aroma with lemons and malty notes. Sweet flavour with loads of hops, lemons and piney notes. Finished bitter.

Bottled. A golden beer with a lazing, bubbly off-white head. The aroma has strong notes hops, oranges, and malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of hops - American hops - Cascade, lending it notes of grapefruit and peaches, combined with notes of caramel and malt, leading to a dry and bitter finish. Nice.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is sweet and solid pinewood to grapefruity hoppy. Light sweetness, peachy, green apple and pinewood hops flavoured. Nice hoppy brew. Dry finish.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a clear golden with a rough white head. Extremely citrusy nose - very fresh. Medium body, a little sweet fruitiness and a dry and rather hoppy finish. Delicious, but nowhere near an ESB! 091109

Crystal clear gold with a nice white head. Herbal and citrus hops with some lemon and grapefruit. Not the hop bomb aroma I was expecting but still hoppy and nice. Crisp and very refreshing. Light citrus and fruit with minimal but well done malt notes. Some grapefruit and lemon and maybe a hint of orange. Perfectly carbonated body. Crisp feel. This would be marvolous on a warm afternoon but works just as well on a cool fall evening. Could easily do 4 or so pints because it doesn’t kill your tongue. Lovely. 12 oz. bottle. Fresh green hops are right upfront as I pour. Golden ale color—all right, English bitter color—under a chunky big head. Now, I got this in July (loose bottle rack at Binny’s), so this must actually be LAST YEAR’s Harvest Ale. That’s why I miss the vegetal green hop of a fresher bottle. Still, there’s a good hop burn here you’d normally expect from a northwestern American hop bomb. Still brings in notes of citrus peel and myrtle Seems fine for its age otherwise, malts are tasty and stay back while hops do their thing. Loose bottle was 99¢.
