Aan deze variant van het klassieke Poperings Hommelbier wordt tijdens de rijping een extra portie hop toegevoegd. Dit procedé wordt ook wel dry hopping genoemd. Terwijl hop toevoegen tijdens het brouwen zorgt voor extra aroma en bitterheid, zorgt hop tijdens de rijping voor een echte florale hopsmaak.
De Hommel Dry Hopped heeft hetzelfde karakter als de klassieke variant, maar het dry hoppen zorgt voor een unieke hop-toets die enkel met Poperingse hop kan bekomen worden. De extra hint van groen gras en lentebloemen levert een andere balans op tussen de verschillende smaken van dit bier, wat een meer uitgesproken bitterheid oplevert.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is grassy and floral with Belgian yeast, herbal hop, coriander, hints of mint and lemon. Flavour is light to mild sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. Nice Belgian Ale, grassy, herbal, yeasty.

Fles 33cl thuis. Kruidig, Belgisch gist, klein honingzoetje, grassig, droog, hoppig, redelijk bitter, bloemig. (25-8-2023).

Draught@Pressklubben, Stockholm. Deep goldeny orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is herbal, grassy, some fruity and mild earthy tones. Flavour is fruity, floral, some herbal, grassy and mild earthy tones too. Fruity and somewhat grassy aftertaste with mild yeasty spiciness in there too.

(tap 0,3l @ OP (Brno)) Overall: Ok, bitter belgian. Aroma: Spicy yeasts, light candy sweet. Appearance: Clear golden. Medium white head. Taste: Medium sweet, spicy, light fruity, light bitter, light candy sweet. Palate: Medium body. Light creamy texture. Bitter finish.

Tap at the Watering Hole. Clear golden colour, big fluffy white head. Aroma is hops and yeast. Even some tripel-type sweetness. Smells very Belgian. Big but vague fruitiness too. Boozy sweetness. Taste is like regular hommelbier with a bit extra, unsurprisingly. Lots of Belgian yeastiness, bit creamy, grassy hops, touch of lemon citrus too. Tastes stronger than it is, I think. Color amarillo claro corona de espuma blanca, aromas levadura, cereal, sabor levadura, cereal, cuerpo medio.

Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Moderate malty and hopy and yeasty aroma. Heavy bitter nice flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate.

Clear golden colour, white head. Malty aroma, grassy hops, citrus, light dank note but still fresh. Bitter flavour, sweet malts, hops. Bitter finish, light yeast. Nice!

On tap at the Black Smith. Slightly hazy golden orange colour, white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, bread, light spicy, coriander seed, light floral, herbal hoppy, lemon zest. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, spicy, coriander seed, floral, lemon zest, some candy, nice bitterness. Light to medium bodied. Could easily drink a few of these.
