Anvil ESB is our interpretation of a traditional British-style pub ale. Deep amber in color, a toasty character from British malts and a touch of kettle caramelization blend seamlessly with a mild English hop profile. Its delicate balance of flavors will keep you coming back pint after pint, making it a complex creation we’re proud to call our flagship beer.

1 pt 6 fl oz bottle. Deep copper amber colour, foam white head leaving lacing and aroma of toffee, orange marmalade. Taste is bready malty with toffee, caramel, and fruity earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry dusty bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bottled 650ml. -from Svijet Piva Zagreb. Fran’s bottle shared with Yves, Marko and me. Clear amber coloured, medium sized pale beige head, dry and dusty dog food nose (not so pleasant). The taste is much better; Toasted malt, caramel, dried fruits and touch of dog food with nutty notes in the finish. Not so sweet as I’ve expected. Ok beer.

Huge thanks to Fran for this! Poured a superb, lovely ruby/amber bod ywith a small off white head. Aroma... caramel, slightly woody, raisins, dust, light chocolate, nice really, but not thrilling. Taste... caramel, light dry dog food, vague herbal notes, sweetish maltiness... I didn’t like it much at first, but the superb, silky mouthfeel makes this one a grower... definitely a well executed beer, even if the style isn’t my favorite. Good job!

Bottle sample at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Hazy amber. Aroma of malt, biscuit, a roasted chocolate note, nuts and an earthy hops touch. Sweetish malty flavor with biscuit, toast, nuts and a bitterish finish with some hops. Medium-bodied.

Big bottle from Appellation Wines - Cheers Ash! - shared with jeevan. Pours hazy amber/copper, thick off-white head, quite high carbonation, bit prickly in fact. Red fruits and nut aromas, very nutty. Creamy texture, light sweet taste. Touch of caramel and more nuttiness. Very nice.

Bottle, 0.65l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Clear copper color with large fluffy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toasted malt, resin and herbal hops. Taste starts moderate sweet caramelly, follows by dried fruity esters, slight bready sourness and hoppy finish. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. It feels better than English ESB brews...
