The main distinguishing features of the Baltic porter are the use of bottom-fermenting yeast, roasted malts and long aging. Style enthusiasts additionally extend this time, which, under the right conditions, refines the taste.
In our brewery, we draw on the tradition of brewing in Pomerania. Therefore, the Baltic porter was the obvious choice. Its recipe was developed in the 19th century in the countries of the Baltic Sea basin and in Russia. It was a replacement for the Russian imperial stout imported from Great Britain.
We have been brewing our Grand Imperial Porter since 2008. From the very beginning, it was recognized by consumers and received many awards:
2013: Chmielaki Krasnostawskie; first place in the category: Strong dark beer with an extract content in the wort area 18.1° BLG.;
2010: Beer of the Year title awarded by Bractwo Piwne;
2010: 1st place in the Browar.biz plebiscite in the “Porters” category;
2009: 2nd place in the Beer of the Year category in the Browar.biz plebiscite;
2009: 1st place in the Browar.biz plebiscite in the “Porters” category;
2008: 1st place in the “Porter” category in the 2nd Christmas Porter and Stout Tasting in Moscow;
2008: 1st place in the Browar.biz plebiscite in the “Porters” category.
Porter perfectly complements the taste of desserts. Some people add a scoop of ice cream to it. In a dry version, it perfectly harmonizes with hearty red meat dishes.

Täitsa balti porter, magus, karamelline ja laagine. Päris heas tasakaalus pole ja olen saanud märksa paremat ning huvitavama maitsete komboga balti porterit... kerge makro vaib isegi.

550ml bottle purchased as part of a delivery at Beers of Europe, Setchey, Norfolk and drunk at home. Dark brown, opaque with a ring of beige head. Malty, herbal aroma, lots of liquorice. Sweet, sweet taste but never sickly. Chocolate and much more liquorice in the finish. Lighter body for the ABV with medium to heavy carbonation. It’s just… incredible.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe - Black body, solid and lasting tan head. Malt heavy nose, deep fruit aroma, some light roast notes. Boozy cake fruits, currants, raisins, robust alcohol hit. Nice mouthfeel. Pretty good.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Pours a black colour with a slight red tint and a fast dissipating beige head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, caramel, molasses. Taste has the same notes as the aroma, with added sugary sweet notes and syrup. Full bodied with a very smooth oily mouthfeel. Not bad but too sweet for my liking.
