Emphasizing that complexity of character can arise from simple elements, this ale is made with three malts and one hop. Its light amber color and slightly spicy malt character are derived from the use of German Dark Munich Malt and Rye Malt respectively. North American 2-row barley combines with the other grains to lay the foundation for the hop onslaught to come. Summit hops are used exclusively in the boil for bitterness, flavor and aroma but it doesn't end there. Post-fermentation dry hopping allows the 10% ABV monstrosity to gently coax the citrus rind and grapefruit aroma to join the 100 IBUs already present. This beer should greet you with a pungent citrus blast, provide a spicy yet round middle and finish with a brisk, clean bitterness.

Draught @ Tavern29. Clear copper with small frothy whitish head, orange peel aroma, low carbonation, slightly sweet orange peel taste, medium thick body, medium bitter orange peel finish. Very smooth and deceptively easy to drink.

Poured into a shaker showing moderately filtered honey brown with half a finger of white foam. The nose shows moderately intense clean pineapple. The palate is light bodied and well carbonated. Flavors of light clean pineapple supported by a balanced malt backbone. Big sharp IIPA finish cleans it off but it’s a bit too big compared to the front end. Still a pretty good IIPA.

Can from Beer Gonzo webshop, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at Cliff House Campsite, Dunwich, Thursday Christmas Eve 24th December 2015 Pours mid to warm gold with a white head that slips elegantly down the side of the glass. Really thick in the mouth, you can tell this is a big beer. Cheesy bittersweet bite, oily mouthfeel, also the aroma is a little cheesy a damn good beer but one is enough. A7 A5 T8 P4 Ov15 3.9

Keg at Andrew Usher’s. Hazy orange body with a thick white cap. Thick lacing marks. Aroma of orange and golden syrup. Flavour of overripe pineapple and resin. Medium to thick body with a sticky mouthfeel. Light, prickly fizz. Surprisingly mild given the ABV.

Aroma and flavour have lots of candied, caramelised tropical fruits. It’s fresh and fruity up front with the bitterness building up throughout. Feels very smooth and refined. Hard to believe it’s 10% alcohol.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Vivid orange. Light haze. Skim of white, clingy head. Looks ace. Soapy, lemongrass hop. Coconut milk. Sorachi goodness all the way through this. Taste is punchy bitter. Plenty of milky, nutty sweetness. Smooth, rich mouthfeel. Really easy drinking. Finishes rich, silky, easy bitter. Lovely.
