British Hops + British Yeast + Changes

Introducing our contribution to the #BritHop project! Copious amounts of new wave Godiva & Jester hops make up this 5% beer called Funky Dory (an ode to #Bowie - geddit?) It's 100% fermented with Brett yeast so it develops with age & ch-ch-changes

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Tips. Pours hazy yellow-gold with a foamy white head. Dry, lightly funky, with some biscuits, lemon peel. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Dry finish, some pale biscuits, pithy lemon. Nice.

Bottle at MS HW, 28/07/18. Lightly hazed pale golden with a decent off white cap. Nose is citric tinged straw, light brett strokes, bread dough, tangerine. Taste comprises tangy citric zest, lemon, straw light funk, musty balsa wood, on the turn melon, stale bread, light spice, subtle brett pangs. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced hops and a tickle of funk. Nice table brett affair.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Premium Bitter? Hazed, pale gold. Film of sticky, leggy, white. Nose has sweaty grain. Mouldy lemon. Soft brett. Some salted lime. Taste is grainy sweet. A little dry. Mouthfeel is a tad flabby and chewy. Soft carbonation. Light bitter finish. The brett hasn’t taken hold yet, here, as you might expect, but neither is it particularly bright or hoppy. Average at best.
