Ondineke is a classic tripel, brewed in the ancient way, again with exclusive natural ingredients: artesian water, malt (barley), hops, yeast and liquid candy sugar. As in the Saison no spices are added.

Brewed with a Styrian Golding variety called Aalster Groene Belle Monopole.

Bottle from BiervanEijk, Frederiksoord. Aroma is fairly hoppy for a Tripel with soft peppery yeast, grassy noble hop, pale malt, spicy yeast. Flavour is moderate bittersweet with a little dryness in the finish as well. Body is medium. I dig me a hop-forward Tripel, some lovely grassy, floral-ish tones here.

Hazy gold with a large foamy white head that left great lacing. Yeasty, musty and bready with faint golden fruit and booziness. Long finish. Moderately full bodied.

Bottle 33cl. @Het Kadaster, Aalst, poured into a stem goblet. Misty pale golden colour, good creamy off-white head, good retention and lacing. Aroma sweet malt, belgian yeast, orange, pear, grassy notes, light alcohol. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, orange, candy sugar, yeast, alcohol notes. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, semi-dry sweetbitter aftertaste, well-balanced, has character, very nice.

Poured with a very nice foamy frothy thick cream colored head and lots of lace. Color is a very hazy light medium amber. Aroma is yeast malt and a little spice. Flavor is bittersweet with great carbonation. I get malt candy sugar yeast. Body is very good. Finish is sweet with a little bit of bitterness at the end. Length is on the short side.

Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were ripe fruits, Belgian style yeast, dark malts, spiciness, caramel and bitterness. Aftertaste was yeasty and bitter.
