Ondineke is a classic tripel, brewed in the ancient way, again with exclusive natural ingredients: artesian water, malt (barley), hops, yeast and liquid candy sugar. As in the Saison no spices are added.

Brewed with a Styrian Golding variety called Aalster Groene Belle Monopole.

Sampled @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. Dim orange body with a fine white head. Aroma is sweet malty, fruity, spicy, yeast and some perfume. Flavor is sweet, fruity, spicy, yeast and low bitterness. Quite straightforward, but OK.

Re-rated after sampled from tap @ Café Ondineke – Aalst. Unchanged comments, but score is a bit higher in general. Beer feels fresher and better.

On tap at KØ-10. It’s a hazy, yellow-orange beer with a nice, white head. Milky, fruity and slightly yeasty nose. Fruity flavor with some milkyness and a spiced touch. Quite citrusy. Sweet, fruity finish. Medium body, a bit fizzy. A beer that drinks very well, pity it’s not entirely clean, especially the aroma was pulling the score down. Rating: 4-3-6-3-12-2.8. 100507

On tap at Cafe Ondineke, Aalst. It’s served with an unclear, almost brownish body under a white head. Dried fruits, caramel, some hops and even more raisins and prunes on the nose. The flavor has caramel and dried fruits, full-bodied and quite dryish on the palate. Nice carbonation. Dry, bitter finish with caramel and dried fruits. An easy drinkable beer that is also quite tasteful. 110430

750 ml bottle shared by Indra. Pour is a hazed golden yellow with a nice one inch white head. Aroma is light grain, lemon citric, sugar sweetness and a nice soft grassiness. Taste is grass and straw initially, followed by the lemon citric sweetness and finishing with some mineral notes. Overall, nice balance of flavors. Palate is medium to light bodied, with nice active carbonation. Thanks for sharing this one Eric.
