Baltika 3 Classic is a classic lager with a pronounced hop flavor brewed using only 3 ingredients: malt, hops and water. Baltika No. 3 has a well-balanced malt taste with a pleasant hop bitter taste and aroma.
This is an absolute classic with a rich history, high quality and unique taste.
Baltika 3 Classic beer was first launched in 1992 and since the mid-90s, due to its consistently high quality, has been a permanent winner of Russian and international awards. The variety has more than 30 of them. In 2018, Baltika 3 Classic received the silver medal of the prestigious British International Beer Challenge in the «Pilsner» category.

0.5 l bottle brought from Russian shop in Graz. Pale golden bodied beer, with medium head. Lemon and grass hops in aroma with some weak malt notes, otherwise would be same as no.2. Flavor also very similar, a little bit fuller though, with hops and weak malt dominating, exactly as aroma would suggest. Finish is short and bittersweet, nothing special, but generally fine pale lager again.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with heavy (thanks!) Poured a shiny yellow colour with a thick medium sized head that went away relatively fast. Weak sourish hopiness in the nose, maybe lemon. The taste is... gee, empty. A void surrounded by a mild hoppy bitterness (proved to be the hoppiest of the 4 we’ve had today). Ok, not a void. Some very weak maltiness could be sensed. Dull and unimpressive, and yet not the worst Baltika we’ve had today.

Clear pale yellow body with a large frothy white head. Sweet corn, grain, slight skunk aroma and a touch of grassy hops. Sweet grainy honey flavor with light grassy hop hints. Light body with fairly high carbonation and a smooth but grainy finish.

Lets go to Russia! Appearance of pale yellow american lager when poured from a 17 oz bottle. Nice head at first but then it fades rapidly to a teafroth. Taste is typical american pale lager but has it’s own unique spin. Some yeasty pale lager aromas. Taste is relatively acceptable for a lager lover. Cannot really taste too much hops as described but that is a good point. When I refill the glass the foam hangs. Some industrial , possibly plastic bite on the finish, but overall not bad. One of the better baltikas I’ve had. Probably on par with Baltika 5. Finish is lagerlike and non assuming. Does not possess any of the industrial processed adjunct off flavors of many american cheap lagers.

Sampled from a can: Weak lemony grain aroma. Paleyellow pour with a thin vanishing head. Weak sweet corn flavor. Plastic and sugar water aftertaste. Cheap tasting and unpleasant.

Gold color. An ordinary pale lager. Corn and sweet malt. Its redeeming quality is that it is not offensive.

Light aroma of noble hop. Arguably some pale male hints. Brassy gold color with a white head that diminished, then sort of filmed. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Pale malt sweetness accompanied by grassy/herby hop. A lager that is trying to be a pilsener. The finish is not quite dry, but has noble hop persisting into the future. Hard to explain why, but this is head over shoulders above the American mass products.

Bottle. While it tastes like just about any other pale lager you can come across, it actually was pretty decent. A little weak, but (for what you should expect) it has a nice malt and hop flavor. It’s pretty smooth, and did not feel overcarbonated like so many domestics.

Bottle. Pale coloured lager with big but short lived head. For a Euro lager this was ok, with little aroma but with some sweetness and a touch of hops in the finish. I’ve had a lot worse.
