Drought. Pale yellow with white foamy small head, strong taste of honey masking the high alcohol content, low carbonation, abrupt finish. A bit too sweet for my taste.

0.33l bottle. This is a bright cleat golden one with a huuuge and what I call everlasting almost fluffy just off-white head. Looks really nice in the glass, and the aroma? It immediately reminds me of a woody white wine! Green acidic and alcoholic grapes at first, but after a while when the head settles down a bit it becomes more a tripel. Lovely Belgian yeast and light candied sugar dominates. Some faint apply-fruitiness in the background. It's above average on the carbonation and gliding oily on the mouthfeel. Sharp Belgian flavors. You notice the alcohol - especially in the extreme heated sharp and warming aftertaste. More of this green slightly sour apples and light candied sugar. The finish has a mild metallic and grainy touch. Yeah, a nice classic tripel indeed. 07.02.2013

33 cl. bottle @ home, gift from Hilde but bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. golden colour with big dense white head. Fruity aroma with apples ans some graininess. Yeasty slightly sweet taste with more fruity tones. Nice bittersweet aftertaste. Good tripel

Flaske fra polet: tårnhøjt, hvitt skum. Klar&gylden. Aroma av stikkelsbær og rips. Medium munnfylde og overraskende tørr smak og ettermak. Lite sødme for en tripel, men det gjør den på en måte mer lettdrikkelig. Dog ingen benchmark.

33 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 13.03.2010
Aroma has soapy citrus, some honey and alcohol. Flavour is sweetish with soapy citrus, pear esthers, some stinging alcohol and hints of spices. Too boozy.

Draft at Jacktrelden, Den Haag. Poured a crystal clear yellow colour with a big white frothy head. The aroma is pretty weak and if I'm honest, I can hardly smell anything at all. The flavour is of malt and yeast. Given the alcohol content, its not particularly bitter and the palate is weak. As far as Tripel's go, it's not a classic, but its still far more tasty and refreshing than many other beers I could mention.

Smells floral and pours copper. Aroma has a little too much astringency barrel-like taste. Otherwise a decent triple. Some malt in aroma as well and high alcohol burns a bit on leave - not cushioned very well. Bottle.

750 ml bottle into chalice, best before 4/1/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear golden amber color with a nice 1-2 finger fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings to the glass, with a nice amount of streaming carbonation; this is a great looking tripel. Aromas of big apple, pear, grape, honey, apricot, clove, light pepper, herbal, floral, candi sugar, bread, and light yeast spiciness. Damn nice aromas with good complexity and balance. Taste of apple, pear, apricot, grape, clove, light pepper, grass, floral, earth, honey, bread, candi sugar, and yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of light fruits, clove, pepper, honey, bread, herbal, floral, earth, honey, candi sugar, and yeast spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice flavor complexity; with a great malt and spicy yeast ester balance; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly slick and foamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Tripel! Great flavor balance and complexity; very smooth and easy to sip on. A very enjoyable offering; and very much in line to what I like to see in the style.
