Brown with a dark and sustained colour, topped with a light mousse. First lactic and cheesy, the nose reveals delicious accents of coffee and roasting, and notes of heated brown sugar, cane sugar and . The palate is reminiscent of roasted and toasted, with a very present caramel touch. EBC 80.

Nicer deep chunky dark brown body with a very potent ruby glow and a nice, one centimetre tall light brown head - very nice looking. Aroma of raisins, alcohol, metal, pit fruits, deep malt and a touch more alcohol noticeable. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence - medium flavoured with some mild tastes at first then fading to a malty, raisiny, dry and oaky and earthy finish with hints of metal. Aftertaste shows a bit of the sugars, some more malt and a bit more deep earthy bite at the very end - but still a relatively mild flavour for the style. Overall, a nice and subdued dubbel with more emphasis on raisins and dry oak notes - not amazing, but not a bad beer either! I sampled this stubby 33 cL bottle purchased from Park n Shop [International] during the Belgian Celebration at the United Centre location in Admiralty, Hong Kong, SAR on 02-July-2011 (Best by date on bottle/HK: 28 February 2014) for HK$24,90 sampled back at home in Washington on 08-January-2012 - so this beer got to travel to Asia from Belgium only to then fly in my bags back to Washington.

Bottle at home. 1 year old. Deep hazy nut-brown colour with a beige head. Nice aromas of sweet biscuits, chocolate, vanilla, spices, peach and perfume. Sweet malt also in the mouth along with leather, mild hops, maple syrup and some cake sweetnes. Ends a bit dry with some alcohol. Overall a delicious beer in both nose and mouth. Reminds me of a good christmas beer.

Tap @ Falling Rock. Deep reddish brown appearance with a brown head. Syrupy, candy sugar, rich caramel, mild chocolate, belgian yeasty nose. Rich chocolate, caramel malty, toffee, strong candy sugar, dark fruity, plum flavor. Rich, sugary finish. Not bad but itβs a very rich, candy sugar belgian ale.

0.33l bottle. Pours a semi-clear rubybrown body with a fingersized light caramelly bubbly head. Aroma is dominated by lots of caramel malts, some dark fruits like figs, dates and some blue plums. Really lively carbonated, oily mouthfeeling and medium-bodied. Lots of roasted caramel flavors, malty with some distinct hazelnuts and a hint of thin licorice- and chocolate-paper. It has a light sour and leafy twist in the ending and a thin hint of yeast and a mildly warming aftertaste. I probably served it to cold (again) cause it got some interesting flavors as it got some temperature.

Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a red-orange color with a huge foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was ripe cherries, raisins, sugar and Dr Pepper. The flavor was tart cherry pie filling, light molasses and biscuit. The finish was long with bread, fruit, anise and Dr Pepper lingering. Medium body. Solid.

bottle from beerplanet.eu clear brown, small light brown head. mild nutty slightly bitter caramelly and malty aroma. flavor is bitter carmel, ripe dark frusts, malts, nuts, cola nuts. palate is watery yet quite carbonated. a little too watery for my taste, and a wak body too. do hide the alc. well, flavor and feel resembles cola too much.

Pour is a brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is a nice dark fruit and candi sugar. Flavor is that and more with a nice molasses and brown sugar followed by a rich earthy malt. Nice dubbel.
