Introduced in 2009 as the dark counterpart of the classic Augustijn Blond. Possibly an alias of Bornem Dubbel.

Nagyon finom karamellás illat, szép barna szín, és drapp, krémes, tartós hab. Iszonyúan fincsi karamellás íz, ami az első korttyal szinte rátör az emberre. Azután előbújnak a szőkére jellemző fűszeres, komlós ízek. Testes sör, gyenge utóízzel. Az alkoholt itt sem érezni.

Pours clear and dark amber with a frothy tan head that lasts. The aroma contains malts, caramel, ripe and dried fruits, butter, bread, yeast and some alcohol. The taste is medium sweet and light bitter, which lingers moderately long. Oily texture and soft carbonation. Good one.

Small bottle, at the end of 2011. Color: dark amber. Aroma: fruity, buttery (similar to fermented baked milk) Taste: semi-sweet, slightly bitter. Mediocre, this beer not even close to Augustijn Blonde produced in 2008 and before.

750 ml bottle into chalice, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy ruby red/copper color with a 1 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big raisin, plum, fig, pear, apple, pepper, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of fruity/spicy/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, pear, apple, pepper, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of peppery yeast spiciness and slight tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, pear, apple, pepper, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice dubbel style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
