Traditional South German wheat beer features the signature characteristics of banana and clove, both in aroma and flavor. These flavors are produced by the unique German yeast strain used as it plays off of the German wheat used in the brewing.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear straw yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of wheat and yeast with a bit of grapefruit backing. Flavor has grass and wheat with some clove backing.

GABF 2013. Titled "Kuhnieweizen". Pours a milky yellow appearance with a white head. Really heavy esters and phenols in the nose - banana, lemon, orange, clove. Flavor wasn’t too bad and pretty easy to drink but it was kind of a banana bomb. Would like to try again.
