Hazy brown / dark amber color, beige head. Smell malts, caramel and spices. Tastes about the same, maybe slightly some fruityness. Full body, medium carbonation.

Bottle, 75cl, at Cafe Ondineke, Aalst. A hazy, dark amber to brown body is topped by a big, diminishing beige head. There’s some milky hints on the nose, as well as roasted malts, dried fruit, caramel and some spicy touches. It’s slightly milky on the palate too, medium to full bodied and nicely carbonated, with flavors of dried fruits, caramel and a hint of spices. Decent finish. In a strange way, a quite ordinary beer. Nice, but not the best from Glazen Toren. 110430

Re-rating Christmas 2022. It’s actually superb beer for food like ham, roast etc. Had to update my score. It’s a classic Belgium brownish kind of beer with a fine sweet malty base. Perfectly balancing with moderate hop and spicy yeast. Some dry fruit. Nice body and pleasant aftertaste.
................................................... 750 ml bottle @ CafΓ© Ondineke in Aalst. Amber body with a moderate sized, dense beige head. Aroma of light burnt malt, caramel and some cellar notes. Flavor is sweet caramel, malt, brown sugar and hint of acidity. Quite nice, but not really in balance imo.

Medium beige head. Hazy opaque brown body. Buttery burnt sugar aroma. Sweet buttery candy licorice taste. Light body. Fizzy mouthfeel. Sweet peanutes and buttery popcorn aftertaste with licorice notes. WTF? Did not enjoy very much. (0.75l bottle, Babbelaer, Aalst.)

1/10 0.75 l bottle courtesy of ogivlado, thanks! It poured murky brown body with medium sized brownish head. Nice aroma of chocolate, caramel and some fruit. Pleasantly malted, but no traces of peat or any smoked malt found, nor in its nice sweetish chocolate flavor. Its malt together with yeast fruitiness create very good balance. Medium to fuller body, long, tasty and very nice finish, leaves final impression on this nice beer. Not so typically Belgian, still very nice.

Dark brown coloured, medium sized off-white head, malty nose with touch of dried fruits. Sweet malty, caramel and dried fruits with notes of yeast and figs. Lots of sediment at the bottom and all over my glass.
