(Bottle) Hazy brown colour with big, frothy, beige head (gushing out upon opening). Malty, spicy nose with caramel, dark rye bread, prunes, raisins, burnt sugar and Christmas spices (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg). Malty, spicy taste with notes of caramel, toffee, dark bread, brown sugar, cinnamon, prunes, raisins, julmust (Swedish Christmas softdrink), a touch of yeast and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced winter warmer. Very nice.

75 cl bottle, bottled 21.11.06. 8,7% on the label. Roasted malt, licorice and porto in the aroma. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, brown sugar, caramel and porto. Some warming alcohol partly hidden by the malty sweetness.

Shared 750 ml bottle, ABV 8.7%. From Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. Hazy deep reddish brown colour, large off-white to beige head. Very nice aroma of rich malts, brown kandij sugar, molasses and Belgian ale yeast. Malty flavour, moderate notes of kandij sugar, but not too sweet. Very moderate hops (Aalst Hallertauer).

Owl Farm, Brooklyn tap: medium amber color with a white head. Aroma is sort of yeasty, very malty, candy sugar. Taste is sort of sweet. Sugary finish, but not cloying sweet. Not too heavy body either. Good.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker; shared with Anke & Pieter. Pours hazy dark brown with a foamy, diminishing, beige head. The aroma contains caramel & candi sugar, cinnamon, malt & nuts, raisin & candied fruits, hops, yeast, some ripe banana and liquor. It tastes medium malty & caramel-like sweet and light spicy bitter; hoppy & nutty finish and warming alcohol. Full body, slick texture, fizzy to lively carbonation (a bit too much). Very enjoyable late in the evening.

0.75l bottle thanks to Cristobal37. Slightly hazy dark orange/brown body with a beige head. Aroma of dark sugar syrup, apple pie, licourice and nutmeg. Taste is pretty much like the aroma. Nice winter ale, I like it.
