In the calm and cool (0°C) environment, the beer matures, develops a finer taste, perfects its aroma and acquires its natural and characteristic sparkles. It is here also that the beer obtains its balance, finesse and gleam. The Blonde is brewed since 1979.

Bottle @ benzai. Clear golden yellow colour with a medium sized white head. Smells malts, herbs, spices, slightly yeasty. Tastes sweetish, malts, fresh. Nothing crazy. Thin to medium body, medium carbo.

Can (I think it was) shared in the car while hustling through Belgium back in March 2013. Pours clear yellow with a fine, white foam head. Big cereal and bread aroma with hints of straw. Medium sweet flavor with hefty doughy bread, some white sugar. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with notes of cereal, doughy biscuits, light alcohol, more white sugar. Simple but decent. A pretty classic biere de garde.

Classic bière de garde with thick, creamy, sticky foam and deep ’old gold’ colour, clear with calm fizz. Aroma of honey, caramel, whisky, old ’jenever’, apple peel, egg, sweet sherry, musterd seed, mango. Taste a fresh fruitiness at first, not really sweet, then caramelly malty with a hint of sherry, bit resinous, spicy hints in the finish with peppery hop bitterness and insufficiently masked, gin-like alcohol.
