Legado de Yuste is the beer that gathers all the traditional values from the expert hands of Flanders Master Brewers brought by Emperor Charles V during his retreat at the Yuste Monastery. An abbey Ale made from Extremaduran barley malted as Vienna malt, which gives the beer both its flavor and its old golden color, selected aromatic hops Perle and Saaz (from the Czech Republic), yeast and sugar.

330ml bottle on a train to Birmingham with haddock. Pours a hazy depe brown, caramel nose. Taste presents a full-on caramel character, some spice with a whisper of liquorice on the finish. Decent vienna lager.

33cl bottle shared with minutemat on a train heading to Birmingham on 28th May 2017. Lovely amber hue to the body, white crown: malty molasses rule the aroma and taste, smooth mouthfeel and fairly sweet throughout.

Bottle shared with Sarah on holiday in Fuertaventra. A clear amber copper coloured pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is grassy hop, little skunky, powdery yeast, cola cubes. Flavour is composed of dry toastedalts, light metallic rusty penny, bit light a Vienna lager. Palate is semi sweet, highish powdery carbonation, Lingering woody and metallic. Not terrible.

Bottle picked up at Eroski, Gibraltar. Pours bright mid brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, alcohol, touch of chocolate. Medium to heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, oily but watery texture, soft carbonation. Not a great one.

[1/2] Bottle at the holiday villa, Abades, Tenerife. Amber with no bubbles and an offwhite head. Sweet malt, nice yeast presence, light caramel and sweet grain, light spices and touch of lemon. Floral honey. ... | [2017-04-10 19:16:10] - Locatie: Abades - Comment: [2/2] ... Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and low carbonation. Spiced bittersweet caramel finish. Also very Belgian inspired, but it’s getting somewhere. Or maybe it’s hope I’m tasting.
