Bottle at Stockholm Beer and Whiskey Festival 2013. Hazy deep brown liquid with small light brown head. Aroma of smoke, roasted malt, peat, oak, bread and caramel. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of smoke, chocolate and oak. Medium to full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Nice and smokey.

Bottle. Brown colour with an off-white head with good lacework and medium lasting. Aroma has notes of toasted malts, peat, whisky and candy sugar. Flavor is very compley mainly dominated by peat and whisky, some wood notes and red fruits are present, toasted with notes of candy sugar. The final is alcoholic with whisky hints.

Bottled, Feb 2013. Slight hazy ruby color, medium frothy light brown head. Aroma of soft peat, some red fruit, some dark malts, slight spicy yeast. There’s some sweet note that softens the peat, which is good for me. In taste it’s more dry, again quite some peat, some nutty tones. Nicely balanced as always from de Dochter vd Korenaar as the peat usually will overpower a beer completely. Here it does dry out the beer quite a lot, but there’s relatively a lot of flavor and aroma of the base beer left. A wonderful base beer that blends extremely well with all these barrels. Peat is not my favorite, preferred the blended oak for that, but it’s a lovely beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of Embrasse Aged In Peated Islay Whiskey Barrels on 19 Feb 2021 at 23:26 - Score: 7. Gewoon bij de mitra vandaan, samen met de rode peated variant. Zelden meegemaakt dat ik op UT niet echt een passende entry kan vinden. Of het zou de blended oak aged moeten zijn, maar dat staat nergens
