Bottle: Poured a clear yellow color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of herb and grass with nice floral touch with some spices also noticeable. Taste is a nice mix between some floral and herbal notes with a semi-sweet malt backbone with some spices with peppery notes to it. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Interesting though maybe a tad too much of spices to drink on a regular basis.

THere’s a lot of hype over this one but I don’t think it’s that justified. It’s alright for Ontario but pretty weak for a Belgian. Alcohol smells strong though not as much in the taste. No lacing. On tap at barVolo.

750mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks Mike), pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of sweet syrupy malts, dough, candied sugar and light spices. Flavour resembles this, with sweet candied sugar, dough, syrup, slight spice and Belgian yeast. ABV is well-hidden. Not very complex and quite simplistic, and also quite sweet. Decent.

From my delightful parents who got this in Ottawa: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma has berries, a bit of Belgian yeast, no hops, and some sugar. Taste is slightly sweet. The plethora of ingredients does not really come through for me. Instead, I get something pretty good: a light, but full, Belgian ale that tastes like something with a fraction of the alcohol. If I was drinking this blindly, I would have almost had thought that this was a Belgian "single." All the flavors are nice, but they are exceedingly subdued. I enjoyed this, and at my second glass, I think I feel a buzz coming on.

A golden Belgian ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, strong sweet candy sugar, with phenolic character, orange peels, light spices. In mouth, a sweet malt with candy sugar, orange peels, licorice, herbs, very smooth and oily. On tap at Arrow and Loon, May 2 2012.
