The first stouts were brewed in London, originally designated as strong ales, they gradually became associated solely with porters and matured as a diverse style by their own merit. We wanted to do our London heritage proud, Last Train is full-bodied and creamy with a rich dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavour. A modern London beer, steeped in tradition.

Can. Black with light brown foam, dissipates quickly. Nose is roasted chocolate malts and oats, hintw of coffee. Taste is medium to full bodied, slight oily smooth texture. Slightly roastiness and dry upfront, but not especially bitter. Big chocolate malt and roasted oaty flavour, with a slight dark red fruity note. Finish is a long but light dry roastiness. Excellent balance.

Dark brown pour with a tan head; aromas and tastes of cream, loads of roasted grains, some milk/cream and smoke; strangely it works

Can from local Lidl (and from Beer 52 as well). Pours a very dark reddish brown with a sizeable beige head. Chocolate and roasted malts in the aroma. These carry on in the mouth, where they are joined by oats, coffee and traces of vanilla. Overall a sweet and smooth sensation with light carboation, and a bit watery. Some fruityness in the finish. A decent enough stout, but a bit lacking in character.

Thin beige head left a spotty cover on a near black still body. Liquorice, nutty & burnt aroma. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated over the tongue with a sticky dry back. Liquorice, roasted, burnt & malt tastes with a tangy fruity finish. Standard.

330ml can: BB 28th Apr 2022. Black bodied, tanned topping. Coffee and chocolate esters in the nose and the same flavours in the taste. Decent enough Stout, without actually getting my senses too excited.

330ml can Lidl - Opaque black, tan head. Nose is ciocoa, bit of coffee, taste is malty, oaty and smokey. Quite a nice effort.

Can from Beer 52. Aroma is simple, some coffee. Nice black look with foam and mahogany bottom. Taste is a bit like amateur stout to be honest which is a bit sad. Some sickly vanilla blending with roasted malt. Something unsettling about it even though at first it was lovely.

Can from ASDA Supermarket, Manchester. Black with a head. Has a decent aroma with a full body. Has a slighlty creamy taste, is perhaps a little understated in taste, softer in design than its strength might suggest.

330ml can. Near black, good beige beige head, decent retention. Aroma of roasted coffee, malts, dark chocolate, caramel, hint of raisin; very nice. Moderate smooth body, soft carbonation; good. Taste has the roasted malts, coffee, chocolate but slightly watered down and lacks a bit of depth. Its very pleasant but it could have been a great stout.

330ml can - Pours a dark red colour with a small thin beige head. Aroma is coffee, roasted and earthy malts. A moderately sweet roasted taste, coffee, earthy roasted malts, a little chocolate and light dryness in the finish.
