A true full-malted, copper-blond tripel, with two varieties of malt and two breeds of hops. Its subtlety is strengthened through the exclusive use of grain during the brewing process, resulting in a beer with a rich, rounded mouth feel. This unique tripel is re-fermented in the bottle.

(Bottle, Lombard, Brussels, 14 Oct 2015) Golden amber colour with brief, frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, orange peel and toast. Malty, fruity taste with orange peel, dried fruit, toast and a balanced, slightly metallic, bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made. Quite nice.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Amber with a big off-white head. Fruity yeasty aroma with some malts as well. Less sweet than most tripels which is a good thing in my eyes. Long dry finish. Nice tripel.

An amber coloured ’tripel’ (but in fact more an ’edelbier’, to use the old OBP terminology) with a stable, moussy head. Sweetish aroma, caramel, candied fruits, banana, spicy accents; sweetish taste, smooth and slick mouthfeel, caramelly malts, a tad nutty, low hop bitterishness in the finish. Not that bad but not a real tripel to me.

2001 Vintage. Bottled during 05/2001. 12 years old now! 33 cl. bottle sampled @ Bierkaffee ’t Middelpunt in Zolder. Thx! Murky mashed rex fruits, touch amber liquid with basically no head. Nose is huge oxidation in the best way possible, sweet sugary with sherry, figs, dark fruits, sugar and ripe soft banana in a red fruit kind of way. Taste is same pure oxidation goodness, figs, soft & mashed red fruit, sherry, plums, prunes, sweet herbs, ripe & soft banana, port, yeast, more oxidation goodness, toffee,… Full & basically flat. Very impressive & miles about expectation. Absolutely 0 possible off-flavours that could accompany oxidation, absolutely stellar & very affordable, colour me impressed here.

330ml bottle. Clear orangey dark golden colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity aroma has notes of green apple, pear, a yeasty touch, hints of fruit parings. Taste is minimally sweet malty, fruity hints of yellow and red berries, a dry touch of fruit parings, some yeast; average, though prickling, micropore carbonation.
