Bottle. Dark mahogony-black beer with a tan head. Light roast and light grain aroma. Malt and light toffee flavor with light roast and light mineral. Medium bodied. Malt and light toffee lingers with light roast.

12 oz. bottle. Pours nice lager head but with a stout head color. Smell does have those roasted barley notes, just less prominent than in the real Guinness. The main thing that makes this not a real Guinness is the forced carbonation with no nitro and no widget. We’re left with a halfway decent black lager that’s aimed at people who might like Guinness if it were a lager and just as fizzy as a Lite.

11.2oz bottle. Cold brewed, how ’bout that. Mellow black malt aroma. Pretty much a straightforward Schwarz/Dunkel. Overly sweet, I’m not sure who they were thinking of selling this to. Not a bad beer, if I were in Germany. Distant smoked coffee tones, there is some nice roastiness. Some bitterness behind the chocolate notes. Enjoyable enough beer, just a mystery as to why Guinness would feel the need.

11.2 fl oz bottle at Burger & Beer Joint, Miami Beach, FL. Sampled on January 22, 2012.Dark reddish brown to black color, huge lasting tan head. Sweet, cream, a bit roasted scent. Roasted, malty, cream taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium low bitterness.I’d drink it again given the chance.

Bottle @ home. Deep brown appearance with a light brown head. Roasty dark malty, grassy, hay aroma. Deeply roasty malty, light espresso, hay, straw flavor. Light bodied. Pretty gross. Fuck I made some bad choices on my mixer sixer tonight.

Location: 11.2 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 12/5/11
Aroma: The nose is fairly light, with some roasted notes, toast/bread, and a hint of chocolate
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a fizzy light brown head, and some spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is light-medium sweet, somewhat roasty/toasty, with just a hint of bitterness
Palate: The body is light, it is a little bit too watery, with a tingly mouthfeel, and a fairly short duration
Overall Impression: Alright, so I've seen enough commercials for this one to last me a lifetime. Well, I guess my expectations were a little to high here. It is pretty much just an adjunct watery attempt at a Schwazbier. At least I could tell what style they were going for, I'll give them that.
