This brew pours black with some chestnut color around the edges. Medium thin tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Somewhat roasty aroma with notes of malt and chocolate. Light to medium body with a roasted malt character and flavors of mild hops and chocolate. The finish is short roasty malt. Seems like this beer is being marketed as a "less heavy Guinness" which is amusing. Simply average overall.

Curious little bottle attracted my attention when I wasn’t really looking to buy beer. I’ve had a lot of Guinness over the years and while I don’t drink it much anymore it’s still got a special place... So anyhow this pours a dark brown with ruby highlights and a creamy off white head that quickly dissipates to a cap. No widgets in here to release nitrogen and keep this head stable for an hour. Smells, yup it smells, just like a macro lager. Pilsner malt, grainy, grassy, corny. There’s a faint and I mean faint aroma of roasted grains, but I would imagine most of the color from this thing came from sinamar. Taste follows the smell really well and ends with quite a dry finish. Light body, medium carbonation, thin watery mouthfeel. Maybe this would make a good gateway beer for someone, but for me this one was a let down. Nothing exciting here at all.

Bottle. I’m not sure what Guinness was getting at with this. It reminds me of Harp lager, with a tiny bit of roast malt. Weak finish weak aroma. Commonplace. I can’t recommend this.

Pour is a black with a quickly falling tan head. Aroma is a ok hint of chocolate and toasted malts. Flavor is weak and watery and the taste of dark malt does not come to the table until after the swallow. I’m sure Guinness makes plenty of money from their stout so I don’t know why they put this out.

Purchased at the \"green\" Jewel in Chicago, IL as part of a mix & match sampler, enjoyed on Boxing Day (12/26) while watching Bears football. Aroma not really existent, malt if anything, also a bit of lactose but that’s stretching it. Appearance is like Coca Cola, pure black with a carbonated white head. Taste also a bit faint, hints of chocolate malt, noticeably carbonated, not bad at all, especially with the mass produced tag of \"Guinness\". Would probably drink if I was at a bar with limited options.

Bottle, KL. Dark chestnut colour. Thin head. The aroma is thin, chocolatey-cookiesh - think Oreo with less sugar- with vague nuances of earthiness/mushrooms. Light body. Not of a lot of character. It’s clean, with some rather vague roasty/chocolatey notes. Thin finish. Drinks very easy. Fairly inoffensive beer that stylistically probably slots in as a very light schwarzbier.
