Our take on the classic everyday Scottish pub ale. Smooth and malty with a faint fruitiness; too easy to drink!

Dark amber color. Light aroma of caramel and very light roasted malt. Caramel taste, with a touch of roasted malt. Not bad, if you are fond of this kind of beers, but too simple for me.

Tap at the Publick House poured into a pint, too cold as usual. Amber color with a medium sized head. Present aroma - roasty, toasty, earthy, just right in the aroma for a scottish ale. Taste however seems a bit empty and weak. Some of that scottish roastiness kicks in at the end. Mild bitterness to round it off with an average mouthfeel.

This is a pretty mediocre beer by Southampton's standards - interesting yeastiness - bready flavors - slight smokiness - mild and easy drinking, but uneventful in all respects.
