Draft. A light amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt with a touch of smoke mixing in. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of smoke and toffee, leading to a dry and lightly bitter finish, where the light smoke note lingers.

On tap. Clear amber golden with an off-white head. Discreet caramel aroma. Medium body, roasted malt and a little burned caramel and pumpernickel. Some bitterness in the finish. The smoke notes are very, very downplayed as if the brewer didn’t really dare after all. 120709

Sampler @ the brewpub. Color is dirty copper color but clear. Aroma is lightly smoked but apparent with a light caramel maltiness. Flavor is a bit more smokey with a lightly sweet malt backbone. They call this a smoked Scotch but its more like a smoked amber. I like smoked brews and I would drink this again.
