Around the brewery, we listen to a lot of reggae, drink a fair share of coffee, and are devoted to our barrel aging program. In 2015, we had a one off imperial stout aging in barrels for close to a year. These barrels had a rich chocolate vanilla character, but needed a boost. Stauf’s Coffee Roasters, of Columbus Ohio, nailed the perfect roast on some authentic Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, to compliment the barrel aged stout. Champion Ground was born! The Illustration on the label is of Charlie Ace’s Swing-a-ling mobile record shack which was notorious for broadcasting the “Champion Sound!” Our version does this with fresh grounds and good vibes all around!

dark brown color. Nice spicy nose, with excellent dark chocolate character. Super well balanced. Semi sweet, amazing chocolate, bourbon and oak. Super well balanced. Once of the better Jackie O imperial stouts.

Bottle picked up from Etre Gourmet webshop, Grez-Doiceau, Belgium, consumed at Log Cabin Europarc Reindlau, Austria, listening to Snapped Ankles - Come Play the Trees we had Käsespätzle, cooked by Loz it was great. Pours black, the head swiftly departed, coffee and bourbon by the shedload, good bit a little heavy on the bourbon. I love Jackie O's but I really think in recent weeks and months that I am moving away from Impy Stouts, this is sad, really sad.

375ml bottle pours an opaque black with some lacey beige head. Nose has big bourbon and booze, charred wood, caramel, some burnt coffee, cakey. Flavor is better, malt, chocolate, caramel, booze, bourbon, nuts, nutella. Finishes full bodied, boozy, sticky.

Powerful tasting at Salesforce, bottle
Black colour, oily and without head. Aroma of coffee and bourbon. Lean body, it has a sharp coffee flavour, not balanced by sugars and other Imperial Stout characteristics; pretty boozy too.

12.7 oz. bottle, pours black with almost no head. Aroma is loaded with rich coffee beans upfront, accentuated by decadent bourbon barrels... fairly low roast overall. Flavour is loaded with fairly bitter and roasted coffee, not a whole lot of bourbon barrels, with medium roast. Finishes with bitter, semi-burnt coffee. Excellent.
