Around the brewery, we listen to a lot of reggae, drink a fair share of coffee, and are devoted to our barrel aging program. In 2015, we had a one off imperial stout aging in barrels for close to a year. These barrels had a rich chocolate vanilla character, but needed a boost. Stauf’s Coffee Roasters, of Columbus Ohio, nailed the perfect roast on some authentic Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, to compliment the barrel aged stout. Champion Ground was born! The Illustration on the label is of Charlie Ace’s Swing-a-ling mobile record shack which was notorious for broadcasting the “Champion Sound!” Our version does this with fresh grounds and good vibes all around!

At tht. Aroma of delicious bourbon, red fruit, coffee, caramel fudge, vanilla and some smoke. Taste has lots of rich flavor, with caramel fudge, bourbon, vanilla, red fruit, coffee, milk chocolate and a boozy rich finish. Fantastic.

At ratebeer best pours out black topped with a brown head. Nose is nice big bourbon barrel notes vanilla roast malts coffee chocolate and some ash. Taste is more of the nice barrel notes vanilla booze coffee.

Small slightly fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish roasted, raisins, oak, dark malts, dark sugar, bourbon, grass, hay, dusty coffee, bark, minerals, weeds. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, oak, weeds, minerals, bark, bourbon, hay, cocoa, old rope, grass, dusty coffee. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry boozy mouthfeel. Nice.

(Bottle, 0.375 l, at tiong's tasting, 20180309) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized, lightly brown and it lasted long. Aroma had coffee, vanilla and coffee beans. Palate full bodied with medium carbonatin. Flavours were burnt malts, coffee, very dark chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste had dark chocolate and bitterness. A very good burnt brew with chocolate notes.

Bottle at tiong's, Espoo. Color is dark brown with very small brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Dryness, massive dry coffee, mint? some spices and roasted malts. Good coffee imp.

Bottled. Thanks tiong! Pours pitch black with a thin brown head. Aroma has vanilla, roastedness, fresh coffee. Flavor has vanilla, coffee, dry roastedness. Very dry finish. Berry fresh coffee. Wow.

375ml bottle from Beergium. Pours pitch black with a smooth brown head. Aroma of dry roasty coffee, bourbon, wood, earthiness and dark chocolate. Taste is smooth, dry and earthy with some bourbon, oak, wood, loads of roasty malts, coffee, dark chocolate and minty notes. Finish is dry, roasty and earthy with some bourbon, vanilla, oak, loads of coffee beans, berries, hints of dark chocolate and cocoa. Heavy, intense and dry.

Vom Fass im Muted Horn Berlin 2018-02 getrunken. Dieses IStout was mit Green Jamaican Blue Mountain Kaffeebohnen gebraut wurde und dann für 11 Monate ein BA Bourbon bekommen hat ein volles Schokoladenaroma mit schönen Karamell- und Vaniliearomen vom BA. Ein super leckeres und sehr gut balanciertes Stout wo der Alkohol sehr gut eingebunden ist.

On tap at Muted Horn Berlin. Comes with an opaque and almost black color with a small tan head. Nose is Sweet, coffee and Milk chocolate, Vanilla and bourbon aroma. Taste is intense dark coffee, Vanilla, licorice Sweet molassse and a long lasting Sweet to Herbal coffee finish. Good One!
