Bottle @ joes shared by Abijen. Deep brown colour with no head. Smells wine, cork, oak, slightly roasty, slightly rusty. Tastes grape skin, wine, oak, wood. Medium body, soft carbo. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dead Man's Hand (Barrel Aged) on 07 Nov 2020 at 22:01 - Score: 6. Original review text: Amper een stout te noemen. Whisky ver te zoeken, houten vat ook ver te zoeken. Beetje suikerig. Dunnetjes. In z'n stijl niet best.

Draft sample @ ZBF’13 shared with the RB Belgian crew. In my view, this beer was the highlight of the fest. A well-crafted stout and a change from the plenitude of Belgian blondes. Pretty cool label design as well.

Draught Tan-brownish head, small, over totally opaque deepbrown beer. Whisky, rum, sweet with raisins, dates, alcohol. Alcohol-, sorry, rocketfuel, whisky. Further liquorice, wood, toffee and a hint of chocolate. Little typical stoutfeatures, actually. Slick, thick, viscous, dangerously drinkable and warming as few. Wow, it goes on... more and more alcohol, less beer. I’m surprised this is wine- and not spiritaged.

Draft sampled @ ZBF 2013. From previously unappealing labels they have a nice metal-styled one that still manages to keep their previous design ideas going, nice. Apparently Red Wine BA. Pours black with a very creamy beige head. Nose is creamy cacao, powder, chocolate, light molasses, mocha, vanilla and nutella-like flourish (I mean the last one in a good way). Taste is sweet, caramel, toffee, nutella, mocha, vanilla, cacao powder, very light vinous streak, chocolate,… Creamy, low carb. Second BA from these guys & all I can conclude is that they do their BA stuff quite good, way better than their regular offerings actually.

27/IV/13 - on tap @ Zythos Bierfestival (2013-392) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing our beers today!

Clear dark brown beer, creamy beige to brown head, bit stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of mocha and chocolate, caramel, vanilla, sweet and sugary, coffee, bit of smoke? MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of dark chocolate, mocha, coffee, some vanilla, caramel, sugary. Aftertaste: little sweet, more dark caramel, chocolate, coffee, little sour touch. Very impressive!
