Beer #1 of 13 in blind tasting.
Headless pour. A little autolysis (soy sauce) and charred malts. Low hop, not pronounced sweetness. I picked this beer up and in hindsight it performed fine enough. On another side note, I understand the idea of a flight based theme for a brewery. However, do I really want to buy a beer called final departure?
The aggregate score placed this slightly below average.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Always missing deadlines - so this one is popping open 5 days late! Pours really, really black with a dark tan smear. Aroma is dark malt and a lot of coffee and rather herbal bitterness. Who knew bitterness could be smelled? Very full bodied. Flavor is dark chocolate, treacle, coffee and may a touch of star anise. Like this is a very solid brew - solid in the physical sense. It has a lot of malt, but there’s a lot of bitter, so I’m seeing this as balanced. BUT there’s a lot of dryness and bitterness in the finish. :)
