Bomber shared by notalush. Poured into St. Bernardus tasting goblet. Thick golden color, no clarity, medium head that fades to a thick lacing, not sticky. Aroma has pear candy esters, not sweet but Belgian and sweet-ish, very restrained and well controlled esters. A grainy/sandy malt crust character, very nice mix. Mouthfeel has a sprinkle that travels through the medium-thick body and really breaks up the big beer. Speaking of big, no boozy at all. Flavor is similar with maybe a citrus (or coriander) hint with smooth esters (similarly controlled). Soft finish with the pear crust again. Really a treat for the style to be this nice in the States.

Bomber - hazy gold - fairly thick, frothy lace - nose is nice and spicy, with some tropical pineapple character, moderate bitterness, floral notes, honey, grape must - low carbonation - fairly creamy texture - excellent balance between honeyed malt sweetness, spicy character, and finishing bitterness - some tropical flavor, mild alcohol warmth - a bit of pear - finish is warm, spicy, medium-dry - this is really good - I need to start giving more of their stuff a try now that they seem to be hitting their stride.
