Midnight Brett gets its name from the Midnight Wheat we brew it with. The dark wheat gives it a deep, dark chocolate color. The aroma opens with fresh berries and sour cherries, and ends with a warm roastiness. Each sip offers smooth drinkability met with the zip of tart fruitiness on the palate. We brew this beer with 2-row, Midnight wheat, raw wheat, and rye malt. It’s hopped with a blend of Perle, Glacier, and Simcoe hops. We then add our house strain of local, wild Brettanomyces yeast. The yeast works its magic over the next eight months where the beer ferments in a stainless tank. Midnight Brett begs to be shared no matter the hour on the clock.

Light bretta mixes pretty well with roast aroma here . Pours black with decent head and lacing. Light tart and bitter finish. Some citrus. Good package. Tap at Churchkey.

Bottle, thanks for sharing. Pours a murky brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has some dark fruits and must with a light funk and a dark grain note. Flavor has earthy dark grains with a light funk and a bit of roasted malts.

Tasting at Chez Bruce. Thanks to our host for this one. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Light airy dry palate. Little fine carbonation. Light malts. Touch of Flemish sourness. Whisper of spice. Not that much brett. Light dry finish. Somewhat clunky.

Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, thanks to our host with the most, 28/05/14. Dark chestnut brown with a well appointed tan covering that retains well. Nose is tarte berry fruits, woody rinse, dates, brett, figgy jam, bitter orange peel. Taste comprises tangy dark fruit, plummy tones, subtle brett, tarte dark cherries, spice, dank wood escapades, soured berry compote. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok sour, nothing standout.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Bruce! Pours clearish brown with a frothy, beige head. The aroma has some leathery fruits, a bit of wet wood, cherries, dates. Light to medium sweet flavor, lightly tangy, some jammy berries, faint toffee, plums. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Mostly sweet finish, very faint tangy dark berries, touches of cocoa and toffee, raisins, plums. Very tasty.

Bottle thanks to Bruce. It pours dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasty, toast, dark berry, jam, vanilla, toasty coconut and a touch of sherbet. The taste is earth, roasted malt, treacle, cherry cola, berry, not much sourness to it... dull bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Very restrained and rather dull. A bit of a disappointment....
