Bottle thanks to deyholla! Pours opaque black with a small brown head that fades fairly quickly leaving nice residual and lacing. Lots of molasses in the aroma, date, roasted malts, a bit of coffee, toffee. Flavor is medium sweet, lots and lots of molasses, and here is the black licorice as well, lots of dark dried fruits, chocolate, more licorice. You know, I don’t like licorice, but it actually works well here. Light bitterness lingering to the finish. Full rich creamy mouthfeel, almost tongue coating. Only a mild hint of the whopping huge ABV. This is a pretty nice offering.

(Thanks Jay "GodOfThunder") Bottle. A- Molasses, dark fruits, chocolate, spices, raisins. A- Black color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Molasses, caramel, coffee, soy, cocoa, plums, raisins, licorice, malty, smokey, charred. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, robust finish. O- A solid stout. I bet this only get’s better with age. Very robust flavors that would go nicely with a grilled steak. Deep and rich and very complex.

Odense catch-up from the cellar. Black with a small off-white head. Slightly oxidized aroma of licorice, dark chocolate, coconut and Danish "brun lakridskonfekt". Sweet licorice and dark sugar flavour with a touch of chocolate

Bottle - Molasses, soy, dark fruit and a slight sourness. Jet black with a thin white head. Soy, molasses, dark fruit and anise. Really nice that has held up really well to age. Well balanced and rich.

Bottle. Pours black with a a thin chocolate brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has notes of molasses with dark fruits and some underlying roasted malts. Flavor starts with molasses and sweet dark grains that mellow to let some dark fruits, dark chocolate and booze.

Black pour with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate covered cherries with lots of extra booze. Brown sugar and raisins. The flavor is sweet and alcoholic. imperial stout with a shot of Cognac. I got this in trade a year or so back. it could have aged on and on.

Not quite black in the bottle, not much of a head either. Nose reminds me a lot of Abyss with the licorice and molasses. Nice honey presence. Sweet, spicy and bitter all at once, very sweet finish, nice bitterness and peppery spice, raisins and booziness.

Thanks to GT2. This one’s a little uneven. Lots of bitter root taste wafting around in here from the licorice - almost has some of that absinthe kind of feel going on. Pours clearish black, if that makes any sense. Consistency not super thick for style. Pretty bitter finish from roots. It’s ok but not entirely upsetting that I will probably never try this beer again. If I did I’d wait another year or so for some of the wildness to even out. Bottle.

Absolutely superb! It drinks like an English Barleywine and one at near perfection. Malty, dark fruity, hints of figs, toffee, port.

Bottle thanks to ksurkin: Poured a pitch black color with a half finger tan head. Huge aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit and licorice. Taste is licorice, chocolate, sweet malts, and boozy. Surprised that this is still fairly hot after being out so long.
