Our flagship beer. Columbus hops impart flavors of grapefruit and a hint of cedar..

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a soft golden color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head, sly lacing.
The aroma had some sweet grapefruit, and then some caramel malt and herbal qualities. Light grassiness.
The flavor yielded to the malts and then some hop character makes a decent effort to balance. Crisp resin comes in a sly bitter fashion underneath. Some grapefruit to caramel malt aftertaste flows into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Decent carbonation. ABV felt fine as projected.
Overall, decent AIPA, maybe again if I saw it.

Bomber from Total Wine, Gainesville. Pours golden with lots of carbonation. Small off-white head. Aroms of grapefruit, caramel malts, lemon. Flavor is grapefruit peel, pine, light tropical juicy fruits. Nicely balanced, unlike what I assumed in the aroma. Tasty.

12oz can poured into keg shaped glass. Canned on 7/22, consumed on 8/29. Pour is dark honey, clear. Aroma is surprisingly not as hoppy as I would have predicted and not as hoppy as the previous few IPAs. The aroma has a strong malt character with hops (as opposed to the other way around). Some liquid malt and some woodsy malts with nondescript mildly bitter hops. Flavor lowers the malt presence and amps the hop presence. Bitterness is mild-moderate, lightly cookie crust malts, and again sharp and clean hops but not a particular description I can give (maybe grapefruit, not really cedar). Lingering light hop bitterness.

Bottle from Safeway-Ephrata. Based on the score was expecting to be overwhelmed, but that’s not the case. Fairly mild brew (sampled after Iron Horse Gary, to be fair), nothing much stands out. Some caramel malts, but not much in the way of hop presence. Solid beer, but weak IPA.

Draft pour. Pours a fizzy copper color with a lasting head. Really wet bitter hop aroma. I would say I have had this beer more often then any other beer, and there is a simple reason. It’s often available, and it’s really good. Sweet and bitter flavors throughout with a hoppy finish. Enjoyed this one for years. Good stuff.
