Aroma: 6/10, Appearance: 4/5, Taste: 7/10, Palate: 4/5, Overall: 12/20, MyTotalScore: 3.3/5
A double rating, the scores on RB being the average of both ratings.
Original rating: 5/X/13 - 75cl bottle @ Modeste Bierfestival (Antwerpen) - BB: n/a (2013-919)
Ar: 4, Ap: 4, T: 5, P: 4, O: 10, total: 2.7
Clear light orange beer, small creamy white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: dairy, some nasty sewer smell ("putje"), cow stable, pretty dirty, yeast, sulphur. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, bit sourish, dairy, yeast, citrus, hay, a dirty touch. Aftertaste: bit hoppy, citrus, hay, dirty, little sweet. Hard to describe what it is I don't like about this one, but this must be the first bad beer I ever had from Den Triest.
New rating: 17/III/14 - 75cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB: 1/XII/14 (2014-xxx) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle!
Ar: 7, Ap: 4, T: 8, P: 4, O: 15, Total: 3.8
Note: A complete different experience this time! Either what we got at Modeste was a test batch, or it was way too young, or infected, I don't know. This was definitely much better.
Clear dark blond beer, creamy white head, stable, bit adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: fruity, some citrus, sweet malts, bit sugary, caramel, little chemical. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, citrus, nice bitterness, bit grassy. Aftertaste: a bit sweet, sugary, little banana, some citrus, overall fruity impressions.
