Een buitenbeentje in onze fruitbieren. Zachtzoet van smaak dankzij de bosbessen en het speciale brouwproces op basis van pilsbier.

Deep red purple colour, purple-ish lasting white head. Aroma of bilberry with some sweet lemonade tones. Flavour of bilberry and sugar. Some malt tones. Too much sugar for my flavour, I would have liked to taste the astringency of the bilberry skin. Too sweet, otherwise OK.

Bottle. A dark red beer topped by a small pinkish head. The aroma has cheesedoodles initially, but when letting it rest a little bit, that luckily disappears. Lots of forest berries show up instead with blueberries the most evident. There’s also something undefined here, maybe reminiscent of black olives. Sweet berryish flavor, mostly blueberries, and a medium length finish with blueberries. Medium body, quite sticky but not in a sugary way, more like in an aspartam way. Overall, I’m not sure. It’s definately not a very good one, but there’s some interesting qualities about it after all. Don’t think I’ll revisit it though. 091223

Bottle @ Take One. Deep red to purple colour, pink head. Aroma of blueberry, cassis. Flavour is the same, really sweet, with a hint of sourness. More like a soda.

Bottle from Dranken Geers. Very deep red colour. Thin pink head. Sweetish blueberry aroma. Definitely pick the fruit on the aroma as blueberries. It’s alright. Not as good as the Bon Secours one not as complex and this is too obviously fruity syrupy. Fades a bit, and becomes sweet, thin and a bit annoying.

25 cL bottle, 4.5%, one of my first Belgian beers ever if I recall right - rerate 2008. Pours unclear deep purple in beer flavour and purple lacing white head. Solid blueberry aroma, slight earthy and mild spiced. Sweet blueberry flavour - lending towards a slight strawberry like note. Mild finish with a mild sweetness and continued blueberry fruity note.
